Systems Administrator

At Ascent Data, LLC we help small and medium sized businesses in the Pittsburgh region become more efficient, more competitive and more secure – on premise, in the cloud, and in our own SOC2 audited data center. We deliver better outcomes more cost effectively than most companies can internally.We are seeking an experienced, full-time Systems Administrator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assess customer technology infrastructure and environment
• Create customer infrastructure and policy roadmap and budget to maximize security, availability and organizational efficiency
• Provide remote and on-site IT infrastructure and policy management and support to keep customer systems functioning and secure
• Keep Ascent Data management informed of customer environment status and issues on a daily basis
• Adhere to and apply all Ascent Data standards, processes, policies, and tools
• Design, plan, implement and manage Active Directory
• Administer multiple VMware and Windows 2008/12 domains that include, but are not limited to: Active Directory, IIS, Exchange, and infrastructure monitoring
• Anticipate and identify potential customer IT related issues and work pro-actively to resolve
• Trouble shoot and resolve network / systems-related issues in real time to minimize operational down time
• Provide network / server administration and support for daily operations in Windows environments
• Design, plan, implement and manage Microsoft Online Services solutions (Office365)
• Provide RMM tool administration and reporting
• Execute technical activities including; hardware/OS/application implementation, upgrades and support
• Review and recommend server and software for corporate and customer applications
• Provide system performance and tuning as well as root cause determination in the event of failures
• Produce and present documentation, training, and standard operating procedures for both internal and external customer use
• Work on-site at customer locations as needed
• Collaborates effectively with Ascent Data staff and management
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Technical Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
• 5+ years of relevant IT experience; customer-facing positions preferred
• Pursues and maintains professional career based certifications
